Eldon L. Broome, 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Rose Ann Smith Broome. Mr. Broome was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict, was retired from Ecusta Corp., and was a member of Carson's Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Marjorie McCall Broome; one daughter, Sherry Worley and husband James of Brevard; one son, Mark Broome and wife Patsy of Brevard; four grandsons, Chris, Tim, and Justin Worley, and Scott Broome all of Brevard; one granddaughter, Amber Carpenter and husband Justin of Rosman; two great-granddaughters, Kylie and Gracie Worley. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 12, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Don Waters and Tommy Owen officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
