IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Ann
Chappell
November 21, 1941 – September 7, 2025
Elizabeth Ann Breedlove Chappell went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
Born in Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Lola Breedlove.
Elizabeth was a woman of quiet resilience, who worked tirelessly to help no provide for her family. With little, she created enough, and with strength, she built stability. Though she lived humbly, her determination and love leave a lasting mark on all who knew her.
Music was also very important to Elizabeth. Her love for it was shared by her family, creating special moments and memories that will be treasured forever.
The natural world was a constant source of happiness for Elizabeth. Her hands, which lovingly held her children and grandchildren, were equally at home in the soil of her garden. Her family will harvest, prepare and cook half runner beans from her garden she so lovingly cared for each day and tended to this past few months.
She is survived by her four children, Delbert Galloway (Lisa), Morris Galloway, Bryan Galloway (Donna) and Kevin Galloway (Julie); a sister, Carolyn Burleson; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Lake Toxaway Baptist Church(Lakeside) 10 E Shore Dr. Lake Toxaway, N.C. The funeral service will immediately follow with Reverend Ricky Lee officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
We invite you to join us in celebration of Elizabeth's life by wearing your bright colors and cheerful attire rather than traditional black. As a lover of flowers, plants and the changing colors of the seasons, she would want her memorial filled with the colors of a beautiful garden celebrating her life.
