Brevard - Elizabeth J. Flynn, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2025.

She was predeceased by her husband, Van Flynn, parents, Morris and Mattie Jenkins, and brother Roy Lee McCord.

She was born on July 10, 1942, in Highlands, NC.  Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She was known for her dedication to family and devotion to God.

Elizabeth retired from BASF, where she took pride in her work ethic, If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right the first time.  She also took great pride in challenging herself throughout her life to learn numerous hobbies, such as flower arranging, picture matting, basket weaving, quilting, and many others.  Most days you would find her in her gardens in Brevard, NC or Westminster, SC tending to her beautiful flowers that received so many compliments.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie Flynn of Bonaire, GA and Eric Flynn of  Athens, GA, and grandchildren, Cole Austin of Lehi, UT and Olivia Austin of Boynton Beach, FL, sisters,  Helen Stamey of Brevard, NC and Marie Israel of Canton, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services  will be held 2pm, Thursday,  August 14, 2025 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
