Ellen W. Owen, age 92, of Brevard died Sunday January 27, 2013 at The Oaks of Brevard. She was born October 13, 1920 in Transylvania County to the late Dalphus A. West and Mary Green West. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harley C. Owen, one daughter Violet Allison, two brothers Norman and Donald West, three sisters Lorenia Banks, Evie Van Dyke and Mozell Holden. Mrs. Owen was a member of Pisgah Forest Church of God. Survivors Include two sons; Charles H. Owen and his wife Leona and Truman Owen and his wife Ruby, three daughters; Nancy Spaulding and her husband Thomas, Joan Bracken and her husband Leo and Jean Murr and her husband Lewis, One brother James H. West, twenty nine grandchildren, seventy eight great grandchildren and ninteen great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 31, 2013 at 2:00pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Ray Murr, Rev. Brian Stamey and Rev. Leo Bracken. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:30pm at the funeral home.
