Elmo James Smith Winston Salem – Elmo James Smith, 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. He was the son of the late Chan and Laura Roberts Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alcovia Capps Smith and his daughter, Faye Smith Case. Mr. Smith served his country in the U. S. Army. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Shirley Smith, sons; Ray Smith and wife Lila and Elmo Smith, Jr. and wife Linda, daughters; Carolyn Klumpp and husband Joe and Louise Devore and husband John, son in law; Johnny Case, eight step children, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3pm, Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Fellowship Baptist Tabernacle with the Transylvania Honor Guard conducting military honors.
