Elsa Lee Moses Whittemore, 77, of Penrose passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017. She was born on March 7, 1940 to the late Hobart and Bertha Massingale Moses. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nita Broom and Edith Nicholson. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, John Whittemore; brother, Clarence Moses of Asheville; sisters, Willene Beck of Brevard, Wanda Owen Tuckasegee and Donna Coggins of Tuckasegee and many nieces and nephews.
