Erby Bolt, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

He was born in Jackson County, NC to the late Lonnie and Otelia Bolt. He was the second of five children, J.D Bolt, Ruth Bolt, Ben Bolt, and Annie Leslie.

After graduation, he joined the Army and served in Korea. He was a proud veteran. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, Inola Kilpatrick Bolt. They had two sons, Denny and Russ. After 72 years of marriage, she passed away in 2024.

Erby's passion was travel and ministry. He never failed to visit people at every opportunity. The two of them traveled to all but one continent and was always telling of the places and people they had visited.

He was always proud of his two grandchildren, Lindsey and Nathan, and his great grandson, Tyson. Erby was a true mountain man with a love of the outdoors. He loved landscaping his yard and keeping it perfect. Known as the "Mother Theresa"mountains, he truly lived up to that name. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 11, 2026 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
