Eric Graham Johnson, 55, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 30th 2025.

Born on October 6th 1969 in Brevard, North Carolina to parents Charles E. Johnson (1929-2008) and Barbara R. Cox (1945-2011) whom, along with Grandmother, Naomi M. Cox (1922-2005) Brother, Charles E. Johnson jr. (1951-1982) and Sister, Sherry L. Fisher (1962-2020) preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca D. Johnson, beloved children and "bonus" children, Cameron T. Johnson, Morgan N. Johnson, Tobie K. Johnson, Charlie A. Johnson, Luke D. Thompson, Seth Thompson, Abbigail C. Thompson, dearest siblings, Harold "Greg" Johnson, James "Brad" Johnson, Kathryn T. Johnson, and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he held very close to his heart.

Eric was in the United States Air Force from 1988-1994 where he met his best friend Chuck Roembke. He then went on to be an Industrial Maintenance Technician at UPM Raflatac where his co-workers became his lifelong friends.

Anyone who knew Eric knew these 4 things off the bat.

1. He lived by his Christian faith publicly, with a joyous love of God. Eric's favorite bible verse was Jeremiah 33:3 "Call Unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Which he loved quoting to share the love of God.

2. He was a wonderful and committed husband, who had finally found the love of his life, and planned to make sure she knew that every day.

3. He was an amazing and selfless father, who put his children above himself and worked day and night to make sure they never went without.

4. His dedication to everything he did, whether it be studying the word of God, providing for his kids, or spending an absurd amount of time at the gym is an outstanding legacy to remember.

Eric will forever be remembered fondly and missed dearly by those that held the privilege of crossing his path. We celebrate his life today and find great comfort in knowing we will see him again in the name of the lord Jesus Christ.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Davidson River Cemetery with military rites conducted by the United States Air Force and the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
