Ernest "Shorty" LC Galloway, 85, of Brevard, husband of Mildred Phillips Galloway went on to be with the Lord, January 28, 2020 at Accordius Health of Brevard. A native of Jackson County, NC, he was the son of the late Alga and Cumile Owen Galloway. He was also preceded in death by his children Opal Ann Galloway, Ernest Nathan Galloway, and Mildred Ann Galloway, a grandson Joseph Gillespie, his sisters Vivian Galloway, Thelma Owen, and his brothers Elson Galloway, Kenneth Galloway, and Hoyt Galloway. Mr. Galloway was a member of Cathey's Creek Baptist Church. He was a long-time employee if American Thread and retired custodian at First Baptist Brevard. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his son-in-law Jimmy Gillespie (Kathy), grandchildren Robbie Gillespie and Charissa Gillespie, sisters, Wilma Galloway, Velma Lou Baynard, and Elwyn G. Lance, brother Burder Galloway. Funeral services will be held 12noon, Friday, January 31, 2020 with Rev. Allen Aiken officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
