Ernestine McCall, 85, passed peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning February 16, 2019. She was born in a one room cabin on March 18, 1933 in the Silversteen community of Lake Toxaway to the late Mack and Ola McCall. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Marlene Head, brothers Elery and Lawrence "Buddy" McCall and sisters, Pauline Robinson and Evon Reece. Ernestine was full of love which she extended to everyone around her. No one was a stranger in her home. Through the years she opened her doors to a revolving cast of family and friends. If you needed to be fed, clothed or just get a hug to make your day a little better, you were always welcome. She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Burlin McCall, children, Marshall McCall (Sandy) and Martha Orr, four grandchildren, Lissa Padgett, Keturah Orr (Carolyn), Sam Head (Nadine) and Desiree' Abram, eight great-grandchildren, Kohl and Kyndall Padgett, Alyssa, Andrew, Emma, and Carson Abram, and Zachary and Ezekiel Head, three sisters, Mildred Owen, Hazel Cabe (Junior), Rowena Ashe (Paul) and several Nieces. Ernestine lived her life full of love and devotion for the Lord and she left this life shouting Hallelujah! She would not want you to mourn for her but instead join her family for a colorful celebration of her life. The Celebration of Ernestine's beautiful life will be held 2pm, Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12pm-2pm also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
