Brevard – Eva Galloway Stamey, 90, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 at her residence. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn Riley Galloway and Loma Olivene McCall Galloway and was the wife of the late Volney Stamey. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Robert and Harold Stamey, her daughter, Evelyn Stamey, sisters, Reba Lance, Frances Stamey, Bessie Galloway, Irene Stamey, Geneva Barton, brothers, Joe and Cephas Galloway. Mrs. Stamey was a member of the Affirmative Word Tabernacle. Surviving are her daughter, Wilda Smith of Brevard; sons, Ed Stamey, Rev. Troy Stamey and wife Linda, and Rev. Randy Stamey and wife Dianne all of Brevard; sister, Mabel Shipman of Rosman; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Affirmative Word Tabernacle with Rev. Don Johnson and Rev. Randy Stamey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
