Evelyn Lorene Merrill Blythe age 81, of Cedar Mountain died Monday, January 16, 2012 at her residence. She was born October 18, 1930 in Transylvania County to the late Garland Max Merrill and Hester Jones Merrill. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph " Dan" Blythe, one daughter Janet Blythe and two sisters Leona Merrill and Christine Merrill. Mrs. Blythe was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church and retired from Dupont. Survivors Include two sons; Norman Blythe and his wife Kayoko of Alamogurdo New Mexico and Eugene Blythe of Cedar Mountain, one daughter; Mary Beth Johnson and her husband Richard of Hendersonville and one sister; Jewel "Inez" Grooms of Brevard, four grandchildren; Richard Blythe and his wife Mimi of Tokyo Japan, April Johnson of Hendersonville, Andy Johnson and his wife Heather of Asheville and Daniel Blythe of Brevard and one great granddaughter Nicole Blythe of Tokyo Japan. Memorial services will be held Friday January 20, 2012 at 3:00pm at Blue Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Allan Martin. Memorials may be made to: Blue Ridge Baptist Church, Reasonover Rd.
