Everett Louis Hipp, age 83, of Brevard, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026. Born on February 10, 1943, Everett lived a full life defined by his love for family, the outdoors, and his community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Elizabeth Kilpatrick Hipp and Lawrence Raymond Hipp; his grandchildren, Bella Rising, Casey Lowery, and Tina Lowery.
Everett is survived by his devoted wife, Norma Collins Hipp, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his brother and best friend, Raymond “Dardy” Hipp, and his loving wife, Martha Hipp, as well as his nieces, Pam Hipp Landreth (John Landreth) and Carla Owens (Brian Owens).
He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his seven children: Kimberly Keeley (Scott Keeley), Kelly Meadows (Leif Meadows), Brian Hipp, Kristy Rising (Michal Rising), Kandy Lowery (Eddie Lowery), Kyndra Prescott (John Prescott), and Brent Hipp (Melony Hipp).
Everett was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren: Meredith Semel (Brandon), Madeline Keeley, Green Meadows, Brooklyn Rising, Bradley Rising, Ty Whitesides (Hannah), Christian Prescott, Kylie Prescott, Melora Hipp, Lila Hipp, Austin Lowery, Olivia Lowery, and Jesse Lowery. He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Safidy Semel, Maeva Semel, Falina Semel, Greyson Scruggs, Keeley Scruggs, Renleigh Jones, and Memphis Jones.
Everett dedicated many years of service working at DuPont, where he built lasting friendships and a reputation for hard work and reliability. Outside of his career, he had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting with Monroe and Carl Collins and spending time with family.
He was a familiar face at sporting events, where he could often be found on the sidelines with a camera in hand, proudly capturing memories while cheering on his children, grandchildren and Transylvania County athletes. Everett also loved playing softball and cherished the time spent on the field with friends and family. In his downtime, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially alongside his friend Tony Williams.
A private funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3rd. Friends and family are invited to a visitation of friends on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 101 Osborne Road, Brevard, NC, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 PM.

Everett will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his kindness, and the joy he found in life’s simple moments. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
