Obituary

Floyd Randy Mathis, 76, went to be with the lord on July 10th, 2026. He was born Aug 08, 1949.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Floyd Mathis & Gaynelle Shook Mathis, two brothers, Jack Mathis and Tony Mathis, five sisters, Holly, Rhonda, Jo, Sandy and Rita.

Randy is survived by his loving wife Juanita J Compton Mathis; one sister Linda Heatherly, two sons, Randy Stacy Mathis (April), and Shannon Dale Mathis (Judilyn); two stepsons, Jackie Earl Compton (Deena) and David Wayne Compton (Stella); two foster children, Romona Reems Newton (Roger), and Ted Alan Reems (Pam). Randy was also survived by  his grand daughter, Avonlea Anne Mathis and 6 other grandkids, nine great grandkids; two adopted grandkids, Mason Kole Compton, and Montana Dawn Compton, and had several nieces and nephews. He also had two special friends who were like a son to him, Isaac Maynard and Brian Laughter.

Randy was a Brick and Block Mason for 47 years. He was a member of the Boylston Baptist Church in Mills River. Randy loved the outdoors was an excellent hunter and fisherman. He loved his family with all his heart.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Boylston Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rock Bridge Cemetery, Tuckasegee, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
