Mills River – Freddy Marion Austin, 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was the son of the late Coy and Ruth Westall Austin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Austin. Survivors include his wife of 55 years; Frenda McCall Austin, mother in law; Mattie McCall of Balsam Grove, sons; Marty Austin and wife Debbie of Penrose and Anthony Shawn Austin, Sr. of Mills River, brother; Jimmy Austin and wife Linda of Etowah, sisters; Geraldine Boling of Reynolds Station, KY and Yvonne Buchanan and husband Don of Micaville, NC, grandchildren; Anthony, Jr. and wife Casey, Brittany, Brian and wife Jennifer, Bryan and wife Karen, Beth and husband Matthew and Eric and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, May 26, 2017 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Grindstaff officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with the Transylvania Honor Guard providing military honors.
