In Loving Memory of Gary Ruel Ashe

Gary Ruel Ashe, age 70, of Brevard, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on April 24th 2025.

Born in Brevard on August 23rd, 1954, to parents Clifton Ashe and Willie "Mae" Ashe, Gary was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, sibling, and friend. He brought joy, kindness, and a generous spirit to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Gary had a deep passion for gardening, live music, meaningful conversations, and cooking big old-fashioned country meals. Whether he was lending a hand with the church Sunday school, enjoying quality time with his family, or sharing moments with his church community, Gary lived each day with a heart full of love and purpose.

Gary is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jamie Ashe; his sons, Cody and Caleb; his daughter-in-law, Hannah; and his cherished granddaughter, Kennedy. He also leaves behind his siblings, Zonie Stewart, Charles Ashe, Harley Cecil Ashe, and Leesa Ashe, who will hold his memory close, along with many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings Clay "Poochie" Ashe, Steve Ashe, and Jack Ashe, who now welcome him in heaven with open arms.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at 2pm at Shoal Creek Baptist Church, 615 Shoal Creek Rd., Balsam Grove, NC 28708. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and share memories.

Though he is no longer with us, Gary's kindness, compassion, and wisdom live on in all who knew him, a reflection of the grace God shared through his life.
