Brevard - Gary Douglass Babb, age 80, passed away on November 28, 2023.  A resident of Brevard, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Burnice Babb.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Becky Gregory and brothers, David Babb, Wayne Babb and Tony Babb.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia and a graduate of Brevard High School, Gary was member of the United States Air Force before settling in Brevard and marrying Marilyn Baker of Brevard in 1965.  Gary then began working at DuPont where he stayed until the plant closed in the early 2000's.  Gary was an active member of First Baptist Church in Brevard where he served as a deacon and a chairman of various committees for several years and was a member of Gideons International for more than 20 years.

Gary was known as a loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Friend who had a playful spirit, strong wit and enjoyed seeing others smile.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Babb, children,  Jeffrey Dean Babb, Gregory Stephen Babb and his grandchildren,  Sarah Babb, Emily Babb, Matt Babb, Levi Babb and Rylan Babb and one sister, Brenda Bibb.

The family will have a private memorial service.
