Gaylord B. Lyon, age 96, of Brevard died Monday October 1, 2012 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville. He was born January 24, 1916 in St. Louis, MO. to the late Leslie Walter Lyon and the late Viola Weiss-Brown Lyon. Mr. Lyon was a retired captain with the U.S. Navy. Survivors include four nieces: Anne Hadley Behrend, Jane Hadley Perry, Nancy Niedner Carson and Kathryn Niedner; nephew James Rucker and cousin June Lyon Shomaker.
