On January 16, 2025, Genelle Elizabeth Osteen Chapman "Mimi" of Hillside Heights, Brevard NC went home to be with the Lord, the love of her life, Roy Lee Chapman, and her father, Joe Henry Osteen.

A native of Transylvania County, Genelle was born on August 8, 1953, to Agnes Owen Osteen and Joe Henry Osteen. She was a graduate of Brevard High School in 1971. Genelle worked as a Deputy Tax Collector for over 20 years and a bus driver for 5 years before she finally retired.

Genelle was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mae and Sam Owen, her paternal grandparents, Sallie and Zach Osteen, her father, Joe Henry Osteen, and her beloved husband, Roy Lee Chapman.

She is survived by her mother, Agnes Osteen, her daughters, Connie Case (Richie) and Adrianne Dodson (James), her grandchildren, Sydney Nale (Austin), Luke Dodson (Maggie), Matthew Case, Kenadie Dodson, her sisters, Patricia Merrill and Gail Warren (Ronnie), and all her special nieces and nephews.

Genelle was a Mimi to many of the youth in Transylvania County. She put in countless hours for Transylvania County Little League. She was a volunteer for most of the sports in Transylvania County.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Childers. The burial will be at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 until 2 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church.
