IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Dennis
Bryson
November 19, 1942 – December 15, 2022
Brevard - George Dennis Bryson, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2022.
He was the son of the late George H. Bryson and Carrie T. Bryson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Betty A. Bryson and sisters Dorothy Ann, Dorene and Betty Faye.
Dennis was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose love of life and family was eagerly demonstrated on a daily basis. Dennis was truly one of a kind whose actions, deeds and nearly unmatched work ethic instilled a generational path for success for everyone within his inner circle to emulate and follow. A carpenter, a farmer, a mechanic, an outdoorsman and so many more skills learned, practiced and eagerly shared in order to fix the now and prepare the next generation for tomorrow. He worked tirelessly for the North Carolina Department of Transportation for over 30 years where he established a high standard but always went the extra mile to help in any way that he could. As many have experienced, there's a hidden story or life lesson tied to roadways and intersections throughout Transylvania and the surrounding counties. He (and the recipients of those stories) truly loved the journey!
Survivors include daughter, Kimberly Clark and her husband, Dickey of Brevard, son, Jeff Bryson and his wife, Pam of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, grandchildren, Chad Galloway, Andrew Rogers, Taylor Rogers, Dillion Bryson, and Taylor Porter, great-grandchildren, Anthony, Caroline, Savannah, Easton, Jensen, Rowan and Clark, siblings, Martha and Donald Bryson.
The family would like to express a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all who provided prayers, encouragement, visits, and selflessly assisted with a host of other needs during Dennis's life journey. The compassion and kindness brought numerous smiles and certainly boosted the morale of Dennis and his entire family. Additionally the partnership and guidance provided by Four Season Hospice proved to be invaluable throughout Dennis's care. Lastly, the family is especially thankful for the dedicated and high level of care provided by the entire Kingsbridge staff. The professional, compassionate and loving atmosphere truly enriched the final portion of Dennis's journey.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Moody Connolly Funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Thursday, 22 December between 1 – 2 PM immediately followed by a service to honor and celebrate Dennis's life.
In lieu of flowers, Dennis and the family request for memorials (cash or check) to be made directly to Kingsbridge: 10 Sugarloaf Rd, Brevard, NC 28712; (828) 884-6137.
