Geraldine "Gerry" Clark Mullen, 77 peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, N.C. after a long struggle with the effects of Alzheimer's disease. She was born on January 27, 1938 in Big Flats, N.Y. to Ernest and Edith Clark. In 1965 she married Roger Leroy Mullen. Roger preceded her in death in 1997. She was an avid athlete, particularly as a bowler and in fast pitch softball. As an accomplished seamstress she had a love of craft projects particularly her door stop mice, quilling, cross-stitch, and her son Grayson's early Halloween costumes. She was involved in many community activities, serving as Brevard Elks Lodge Bingo Chairman for 20 plus years and as a volunteer at S.A.F.E.'s Attic. While in Rochester she coordinated the annual Lake Shore Golf Center Men's Invitation Golf Tournament for many years. Gerry always cared for everyone she knew as a friend, and her greatest joy was spoiling her three grandchildren. Gerry is survived by her son, Grayson Roger Mullen and his wife, Brenda Owen Mullen of Penrose, N.C.; two grandson's Tyler Grayson Mullen and Parker Devon Mullen, and one grand-daughter, Brittney Danielle Mullen all of Penrose, N.C.; one sister, Joyce Clark of Savona N.Y. and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted in Bath, N.Y. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gerry's name to the Elizabeth House, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
