Gertrude L. McClelland, age 91, of Arden passed away, Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. Gertrude "Gerry" was born in Germany on October 24, 1918, and at the age of 5 moved to Buffalo, New York with her mother and father Lena and Gottlob Neef. After moving and receiving her schooling in Kenmore, NY she met and married husband, Frank E. McClelland Jr. on October 11, 1941. She then spent the next five years with him as he served in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. Gerry then mothered and raised a sons Jeffery F, a son Mark E. and a daughter Marcia Anne, all of whom survived her with granddaughters, Lena, Sarah, and Kayla. Gerry was an excellent cook and homemaker. She also enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and traveling, and also maintained an active membership in a Women's Club and a Yacht Club. She will be sorely missed by her husband, children, and grandchildren.
