Gilbert Lemuel Atkisson, 72, of Pisgah Forest passed away on March 11, 2013 at his residence. He was born September 8, 1940 to the late Lemuel Freeland Atkisson and the late Delma Lemmons Atkisson Riley. Along with his wife of 38 years, Andee, Mr. Atkisson was the co-owner of Peter Vitalie Pool Tables which was later known as G.A. Industries of Rosman for over twenty-five years. He was a loyal contributor to several companies and charities in Transylvania County, as well as donating pool tables to such places as Children's Hospital in Greenville, SC to benefit children with cancer. Survivors include extended family members Pattie Robinson and her husband David of Kodak, TN, formerly of Brevard, and other relatives throughout the United States.. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests that donations be made in memory of Gil to Hospice of Transylvania County at 1266 Asheville Hwy., Brevard, 28712, or the American Cancer Society.
