Obituary

Gleason C. Snow, Jr. passed away April 16 at The Oaks in Brevard after a long illness. He was born May 9, 1940, in Guilford County, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Gleason and Alice Swann Snow. Gleason graduated from North Miami High School and attended the University of Florida after which he worked in banking for forty-two years in Florida and Virginia. He was a life-long Gator fan and enjoyed sports, camping with his family, and playing with his grandchildren. Gleason and his wife moved to Brevard in 2002 from Smithfield, Virginia. He was a member and past president of the Pisgah Forest Lions Club and a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, Brevard, NC. He is survived by his wife Martha (Brevard), sons Greg of New Hampshire, Wayne of New Hampshire, Scott (Kendra) of Nags Head, Craig (Emily) of Carolina Beach, Kyle of Indiana, his sister Alyson Snow Hall (John), sister-in-law Betty Cook of Rabun Gap, Georgia, nine grandchildren: Cameron, Matthew, Nicholas, Alexander, Kaylyn, Leah, Aliza, Lily, and Emma, a niece Danielle Medina of Florida, and nephew Dave Cook of Tennessee. His optimism, warmth, and caring nature will be missed by family and many friends. A memorial service is planned for 11am, Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Timothy United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163-4777 .
