Glenn Bruce Burrell, 70, died March 29th 2012 at his home in Brevard. Born in Sylva, NC he was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Brady Burrell and daughter Stephanie. He graduated from Brevard High School in 1960 and was known to be a friend to all. He worked at the Ecusta paper mill for 41 years and was a long time Democratic Party supporter. After the mill closed, he studied horticulture at Blue Ridge Community College. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Rhodes Burrell of Brevard; his daughters Holly Burrell of Gastonia, NC, and Heather Burrell of Charlotte, NC; his son Brett Burrell of the Arlington, VA; his mother, Allie Mack of Brevard; his brother, Lewis Burrell of Brevard; and his niece and nephew Christy and Christopher. The family would like to thank Hospice of Brevard and the many friends that showed their support during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
