Obituary

Glenn Ray Robinson, 71, of Pisgah Forest, NC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Monday, July 5, 2021. He passed away at the Elizabeth House surrounded by loved ones after a hard fought battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Cecil A. Robinson and Nellie J. Robinson of the Quebec community. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Robinson; a sister, Inez McCall; sisters-in-law, Vivian Galloway and Blanche McCall; and brothers-in-law, Boyce Nicholson, Randal Nicholson, and Howard "Happy" Nicholson. Glenn is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Betty Nicholson Robinson; a daughter, Kimberly E. Bailey and husband, John, of Pisgah Forest; a son, G. Bradley Robinson and wife, Sumer, of Penrose; and 7 grandchildren, G. Aleksandr "Alek" Robinson, Gavin M. Robinson, Allison "Gracie" Bailey, Garrett L. Robinson, Nicholas W. Bailey, Addison V. Robinson, and Nathaneal R. Bailey. Other survivors include sisters, Barbara "Bobbie" McCall and husband, Vess; Doris Searcy and husband, Eddie; and Shirley Lindsey and husband, Bill; a brother, Jim Robinson; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Bailey and husband, Loyd; a brother-in-law, Bruce Nicholson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Moody Connolly Funeral Home with Pastors Vess McCall, Michael Skinner, and Mark Parker officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. Family will receive friends in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM. Glenn was a devoted Christian family man and loved to spend time with his family. He was proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. Glenn was a lifetime member of Little River Fire Department where he actively served his community for 30+ years before transitioning to inactive status. He was a loader operator with 45+ years of service to Penrose Quarry/Vulcan Materials.
