Brevard – Guy Lee McCall, age 78, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020. He was the son of the late Volney and Ellen Orr McCall. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud, Jake, Jr, Tommy and Bobby, sisters, Lucy, Betty, Georgia and one infant son, Sherman. Guy Lee was known by many as the best bear hunter in western NC. He was considered a legend by most. He was most proud of winning the rookie division championship for two years in a row at the Smokey Mountain Race Track in Cherokee, NC. Survivors include is loving wife, Betty McCall, sons, Joey and Scotty and wife Cindy, two step sons, Johnny Gravely and wife Donna and Danny Gravely, daughters, Kim Fisher and husband Rodney and Robin McCall, sisters, Pat Hoxit and husband Tom and Susie Padgett, one sister in law, Juanita McCall, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer a sincere thank you to the Care Partners Hospice staff for their loving kindness especially, Katie and Sharon. Graveside services will be held 2pm, Friday, October 9, 2020 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 7pm, Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
