Hans Heinz Schmidt, 83, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. Born in Saarbrücken, Germany, he was the son of the late Hans and Hildegard Jung Schmidt. He was a businessman and writer. Surviving are his wife, Roswitha Dieffenbacher Schmidt; daughters, Elizabeth Robertson and husband Charles of Boulder, CO and Piroska Domby of Washington, DC; brothers, Manfred Schmidt and wife Carla and Harald Schmidt and wife Ivany all of Chicago, IL, and Siegfried Schmidt and wife Helga of Scottsdale, AZ; a sister, Helga Buol and husband Werner of Chicago; two grandchildren, Cameron and Alexander Robertson. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731.
