Pisgah Forest, NC – Harold Leroy Baker, 78, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was the son of the late Everett William and Nellie Pearl Summers Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Baker and two sisters, Helen Greggersen and Dolores Mehl. Harold graduated from Waubun High School in Waubun, MN. He also was a graduate of Illinois State University and the University of Hartford. He was employed with Aetna Life Insurance for 32 years before retiring to Pisgah Forest. Mr. Baker served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He loved the outdoors, was a professional gardener and enjoyed hiking. He loved making and eating homemade ice cream. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Kathleen Baker; children, Rebecca Baker of Windham, CT, Deborah Baker of Windsor, CT, Bryan Baker and wife Rebecca of Bainbridge Island, WA and Craig Baker of Pisgah Forest, brothers; Albert Baker of Waubun, MN and Joe Baker and wife Peggy of Fort Ripley, MN, sister Doris Huber of Moorhead, MN and grandchildren; Mathew and wife Katie, Meghan and husband Barett, Ella and Clyde. Memorial services will be held at 6 PM Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church, 494 Hendersonville Hwy., Pisgah Forest, NC.
