Harold James Houck, age 92 of Brevard, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020. Mr. Houck was born on February 26, 1928 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Jack B. and Sadie McCall Houck. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Amelia Amos Houck, a sister, Evelyn Houck Jones, and a brother, Robert Houck. He was a US Navy veteran, having been stationed in Guam. Mr. Houck enjoyed his horses, his family, and working in the great outdoors. He always had a smile and loved to joke around. He never met a stranger. Survivors include one daughter, Amelia Ann Houck; two sons, Randall J. Houck and wife Dorothy, and Michael H. Houck and wife Wanda; one brother, Jacky Houck and wife Pat; 3 grandchildren, Tyler J. Houck and wife Vickie, Katie Houck Benson and husband Landon, and Rebecca A. Houck; one great-granddaughter, Emily Houck. A graveside service will be held at 11AM Friday, October 30, 2020 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
