Maggie L. Harris, of Brevard passed away Thursday June 27, 2013 at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was born March 19, 1930 in Transylvania County to the late Marshall and Juanita Kemp Ballard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one grandson Stefan Harris, one brother Richard Ballard and two sisters Felica Erwins and Jessie Daughtery. Mrs. Harris was a member of Open Bible Resurrection Life Church of God in Christ, and loved her Lord and Savior. She retired from the Brevard Inn as Master Chef. Survivors include her husband Larry Arthur Harris, five sons; Larry, Harold and his wife Carol, Harry and his wife Lorine, Michael and his wife Lydia and Charles Harris, two daughters Laura her husband Jessie Sumlin and Marsha Hammette, three brothers; Davis, McArthur and William Ballard, three sisters; Virginia Clark, Josephine English and Ann Woods, twenty one grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Special daughter's friend Andre Harris. Special friends Mercedes Adkins, Eileen Bour'get, Brenda Young and Luretha Knox. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday July 2, 2013 at Bethel A Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
