Helen Jo Manley McCall, 88, of Pisgah Forest passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Stone Creek nursing facility in Asheville, NC.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Doyle Porter Manley, mother Renzie Owens Manley, brothers Arvle and Tommy Manley, and husband, James Brisco McCall. She is survived by her son Scott and wife Teresa McCall of Brevard, son James Brisco "Jim" McCall, Jr. and his domestic partner Sean T. O'Guinn of Palmer, Alaska, grandchildren Stephanie McCall of Pisgah Forest, Casey McCall and wife Brittany of Etowah, N.C., James Brisco "Jim" McCall, III of Wasilla, Alaska, Katie E. McCall of Anchorage, Alaska, and two great-grandchildren, Allie and Grayson.
A loving, caring person, Helen was a founding member of the Rosman Baptist Tabernacle Church. She was a dedicated Christian throughout her life, willing to help those in need, whenever and wherever she found them.
A former Federal employee, Helen worked for NASA, as well as the Fish and Wildlife Service in Anchorage, Alaska, and the National Park Service with the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, N.C. After retirement, Helen served as a volunteer with the Schenk Job Corp in Brevard, where she met and touched the lives of many young adults and fellow coworkers.
Services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the Moody Connolly Chapel, with the family receiving friends one hour before services. Burial will follow at the Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
