Brevard – Helen Naomi Tucker, born on January 9, 1921 in Mocksville, NC died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Oaks of Brevard where she had been a resident since March of 2008.
She was the daughter of the late Simeon and Bertha Elizabeth Williams Mock. She had ten brothers and sisters, all deceased. Her husband of 62 years, Thurman Leo Tucker (Pappy) who died on August 2, 2001.
Helen was a very beautiful and talented woman who had a wonderful voice and sang in a quartet with her sisters, Evelyn Stokes, Geraldine Harbin and Maggie Watson back in the 1940's. They were four beautiful sisters. Helen played the violin, mandolin and organ without the ability to read music. She and her husband were both baptized together in Lake Toxaway by the late Rev. Tommy Owen.
She will be laid to rest Friday, December 11, 2015 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory following a graveside service at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bibles to the Gideons, P. O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
