Holly Anesa Owen, age 56, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. She was born in Transylvania County on August 15, 1964 to the late Edward and Nellie Owen. She was raised in Balsam Grove by Judy and Sam Owen, whom she considered to be Mama and Paw. She is preceded in death by her parents and birth parents along with one brother and one sister from her birth parents, Leon and Elethia, and most of her stepsiblings. Survivors include her spouse of 38 beautiful years, Dennis Owen; two daughters, Anesa Owen and Andrea Owen; one granddaughter, Aven Carter; sisters Legenia, Cathy, Venelle, Peggy, Susan, and Linda; brothers Devon, Eddie Lee, David, and Larry. Holly loved spending most days at home, working on her crafts and creating beautiful art. She was the life of the party and lit up every room she walked into with a smile and a laugh. She left her touch on everything and everyone around her. She loved her family more than anything and spoiled her new granddaughter with much love and affection. As much as she loved to travel, she always wanted to be home because that is where her heart will remain. She will truly be missed and will forever live on in our hearts. The family will be doing a private burial at home with immediate family. A drive-through visitation will be held at Moody-Connolly in Brevard on January 10, 2021 from 1-3 PM.
