Pisgah Forest – Howard "Roger" Orr, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2015.

He was the son of the late William Howard and Minta Baynard Orr.

A native of Transylvania County, Roger was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. He took great joy in caring for others. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cared deeply for his church family and never met a stranger.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Judy Orr; daughter, Rita Emory and husband Thomas of Pisgah Forest; sister, Darlene Orr Smithey and husband Paul of Easley, SC.

Funeral Services will be held 12pm, Friday, December 11, 2015 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Kittrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am – 12noon. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Turkey Creek Baptist Church Brotherhood, 805 Capps Road, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.
