Hubert Gentry Bryson passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012. He was born in Ashton, Idaho August 2, 1929. He married Mellie Magana Cauble on July 20, 1950 and is survived by her. During his life, Hubert worked 16 years for Ecusta Paper Company in Pisgah Forest, NC, and then started several businesses, most related to floor covering. While a successful businessman, Hubert's passion revolved around serving people. He was a long time member of the Brevard Wesleyan Church, volunteered across many years at Hephzibah Children's Home and supported several ministries in Eastern Kentucky. In addition to his wife, Hubert is also survived by his four children, Eddie Bryson and wife Sharon of Kentucky, Keith Bryson of Brevard, Vanessa Johnson and husband Mike of Pisgah Forest, and Jeffrey Bryson and wife Cyndie of Brevard; six siblings; grandchildren, Anna, Jennifer, Shane, Jason, Chelsea, Eric, Leslie, Michael, and Keri; 11 great grandchildren. The memorial service was held at 4 pm Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Brevard Wesleyan Church. The family received friends from 2 until 3:45 pm on Sunday at the church.
