Jack Webster Tabor
Brevard – Jack Webster Tabor, 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
He was a son of the late Walter Lee and Zell Mae Bell Grant Tabor. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Mae Arrington Tabor, and a grandson, Chris Hooper.
Jack was a native of Bryson City, NC. His family moved to Brevard when he was ten where he attended Brevard Elementary and Brevard High School. He later married and raised his family on the farm. His life work in Brevard and Transylvania County made a difference in the lives of many. He was a very generous and tenderhearted man and was very private about doing good deeds. He was a proud democrat and attended In the Bible Mission Church.
Surviving are his loving wife, Joanne Justus Tabor, son; Steven Walter Tabor and wife Dana of Brevard, daughter Jennifer Sprouse and husband Joey of Henderson County, daughters; Brenda Hooper and husband Steve of Evansville, TN, Patty Hughey and husband Larry of Brevard. Stepchildren; Brooks Shows of Warrior, AL, Bonnie Bannister and husband Berry of Trafford, AL, and Pamela Yoell and husband Richard of Colorado Springs, CO. brother; Don Lee Tabor, sisters; Clara Bell Waller, Mildred Tabor King, Verna Cofer, and Betty Massingale, grandchildren; Kimberly, Jason, Cortney, Carly, Shelby, Kelly, Elizabeth, Erin, Rebekah, Olivia, Matt, Grady, Patrick, Peggy, Baron and Beth; 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Tommy Owen and Bobby Joe Justus officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
