Jack W. "Buddy" Tompkins (76) died July 7, 2025. Buddy lived in Pisgah Forest, NC and was very active in the Brevard community as a member of the Unitarian Universalists Church and the local chapter of the NAACP. He was part of a reading theatre group at Silvermont and was still a practicing Massage Therapist at Elk Haven in Brevard.

Prior to moving to Brevard in 2013, Buddy was a commercial real estate broker and CCIM for 35 years in Dallas, TX. He had a successful, high-rise office leasing career and once brokered the largest commercial campus relocation project in the city.

He enjoyed working out, dancing with his wife, loving his furry babies, caring for the hummingbirds and being a ravenous reader.

He is survived by his wife Jamie, son Matt, daughter Jax and her husband Willam Casey (residents of Pisgah Forest) as well as his sister Becky and her husband Terry Stark of Albany, GA.

A public memorial will be held in his honor at the Unitarian Universalists Church of Transylvania County located at 24 Varsity St at S Broad in Brevard on Saturday, August 2 at 4:00 pm.
