Jack Whitson Cedar Mountain – Jack Whitson, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 15, 2015. A native of Unicoi County, TN, he was the son of the late Carr and Lola Stanley Whitson. He was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Mr. Whitson was an avid NASCAR fan. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Ruth Burns Whitson; children, Tony Whitson and wife Pam of Indian Trail, NC, Linda Laws and husband Lynwood of Marietta, SC, Dr. Mike Whitson and wife Kathy of Matthews, NC; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike Whitson and Rev. Leland Holland officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
