James "Bud" Edwin Bishop, 85, of Cedar Mountain, NC, died on March 4, 2021, at Emory St. Joseph's hospital in Atlanta GA, after an extended illness. Born on October 2, 1935, he was the son of the late Boyce Bishop and Helen Hudson Bishop. He was preceded in death by his wife Willene Fugate Bishop, brother Albert Bishop, brother George Bishop, and sister Katherine Bishop Jones. Survivors include son James Bishop (Melody); daughter Donna Bishop; grandson Nicholas Bishop; sister Jane Bishop Elliot (Jim); sister Mary Alice Bishop; brother Arthur Bishop (Jennie); and several nieces and nephews. Bud was a 1954 graduate of Brevard High School. He married Willene Fugate on September 2, 1960, in Orangeburg, SC. He retired from DuPont in 1992. A graveside service will be held at McGaha Cemetery on Saturday March 13, 2021, at 2:00pm, with the Rev. Dr. Oliver Skerritt officiating.
