Lake Toxaway - James Medford Chapman Jr. passed away at home on January 25, 2021 at the age of 83. He was born to Medford and Lillian Dodgin Chapman, March 13, 1937. His daughter Anita Chapman Rhodes, son Michael, and brothers Jerry and Lester, predeceased him. He was a proud lifelong member of the Quebec community where he attended Rosman High School and graduated class of 1955. He was also a veteran that served the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman; whether it was time spent in the woods or swapping deer stories with family. He always looked forward to attending annual family reunions. He is survived by his wife Hazel of 60 years and his children Phillip of Charleston and Deborah of Cullowhee. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Bryan Rhodes, Lori Rhodes Zeman and, Alyssa, Anabelle, and Allston Henry; 3 great grandchildren: Caroline, Emma, and Oliver Rhodes. James was also survived by 3 sisters: Myrtle McNeely, Margaret Dills, and Mable Parker; 4 brothers: Lawrence, Charles, Carl and Gary.
