James Golden Jr passed away on February 4, 2022, at the age of 76. James was born in Jackson County to the late James Golden and Wannie Mathis Golden. He was preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters. James served as a Sergeant E-5 in the United States Army 1965 - 1967. He loved music and enjoyed clogging and dancing with his wife. He also loved gathering with loved ones and enjoying family meals together. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 55 years, Betty Fisher Golden; his son, Brian Golden and wife, Melissa; his son, Greg Golden; five grandchildren, Dustin, Cody, Jacy, Kaitlyn, and Austin; and 5 great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Sam, Austin, Blake, and Emma. James is also survived by his sister, Edith and husband, Ronnie Crawford; his sister, Ann Luker; his brother, Talmadge and wife, Barbara Golden; his brother, Douglas Golden; and lots of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 PM before the service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina with military honors conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
