James F. Hensley (Jimmy), age 67 of Etowah, NC, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Etta Tinsley, father, James Hensley, sister, Roberta Ramey and her husband, David, and his beloved "fur babies" and best friends, Dutch and Scooter.

Surviving are his sisters, Mary Galloway of Brevard (who loved him very much), and Betty Early (Richard) of Horse Shoe; brother Bob Caldwell of Florida; niece, Linda Shetters, great niece Rhiannon Queen (Allen), great nephew, Nathan Orr (Nikki), and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hensley was a 1974 graduate of Brevard High School. He worked in food services for several years and cooked at UNC-Asheville and Belmont Abbey College in Gastonia, NC.  He also worked in construction where he fell two stories and was disabled and couldn't work anymore. Mr. Hensley loved to be outside, work in his beautiful flowers, get his hands in the dirt, make a garden, and grow Butter Beans. He will truly be missed.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
