James Allen Monteith Brevard – James Allen Monteith, 74, passed on from this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Eugene and May Lee Oliver Monteith and was the husband of the late Pansy Ashe Monteith. Mr. Monteith was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and was retired from E. I. DuPont and Sterling Corps. Surviving are his sons, Geoffrey Allen Monteith and wife Shana of Midland, GA, and Anthony Lee Monteith of Brevard; sisters, Mary Ruth Mull and husband Joe, Carol Monteith, and Janice Wright and husband Paul all of Sylva, NC; brothers, Morris Monteith of Sylva, and Joel Monteith and wife Barbara of Bethel, OH; grandchildren, Christopher Allen Monteith and Bryan Lee Monteith. A memorial service will be held at 5 PM Saturday, November 30, 2013 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Jones officiating.
