James "Jim" Roland Owen, 84, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at his residence. Born in Jackson County, NC, he was the son of the late John Coleman Owen and Martha Ann Hoxit Owen. Mr. Owen was a member of the Full Gospel Church and was retired from Ecusta Corp. after 35 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Marie Wilson Owen; daughter, Linda Segur of Etowah, sons, Wayne Owen and wife Ruby of Mills River, and Billy Owen and wife Joy of Pisgah Forest; grandchildren, Terry Segur, Sarah Owen, Rhianna Owen, Trista Owen, and Jacob Owen; great grandchild, Khaos Cook. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Larry Wilson and Sarah Owen officiating. Entombment will be at Pisgah Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Sunday at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
