James Stephen Tate, 74, died surrounded by his family at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC on 6/13/2023. He was born November 8, 1948 in Brevard, NC, the son of Harold Tate and Beverly Bowen.

Steve was married to the love of his life, Margaret. This July, Steve and Margaret would have celebrated 50 years of dedication to one another.

He loved spending time with his three sons telling stories and jokes while mixing in some golf and fishing.

He loved his family with all his heart. He will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor, quick wit, and huge heart. He believed your actions should be evidence of your faith in Christ, and because of this he was loved by many. His impact on friends and family will never be forgotten.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Mike.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Margaret, are his three sons, Courtney, Brad, and Kasey; his brothers, Allen, Ronnie, and Ken; his sisters, Sherry, Karen, Terry, Alice and Elaine; 8 grandchildren, Jacob, Hailey, Noah, Jamie, Ella, Harper, Dallas, and Graceson, as well as many nieces and nephew.

A private service will be held for family and friends.
