Brevard - Jeanette Harrison Ford, age 95, a woman of unwavering faith, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.  Born in Franklin, North Carolina on April 2, 1928, she was the proud daughter of Clara and Earl Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband Garris, her husband John, her beloved sons Gary and Joe, and her brother Wayne.

Jeanette earned a degree in education at Woman's College in Greensboro which later became the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She taught for many years and touched the lives of all her students. Her love for teaching never dwindled, as she was a devout Sunday School teacher and continued to share her faith with others until her last days. Jeanette was a faithful member of the First Baptist of Brevard congregation for over 55 years.

She is survived by her son Bill Parker and his wife Tracey of Hendersonville, NC, and daughter-in-law Barbara Parker of Apex, NC. She had 7 grandchildren: Christopher Parker and his wife Belinda of Flatwoods, KY; Emily Young and her husband Dustin of Mills River, NC; Jonathan Parker and his wife Leah of Apex, NC; Adam Parker and his wife Jamie of Parker, CO; Michael Parker and his wife Adria of River Forest, IL; Will Parker studying at the University of Tennessee, and Claire Parker studying at Meredith College. She also had 9 great-grandchildren: Reagan, Rylee, Owen, Bryce, Avery, Ronan, Hannah, Ethan, Harrison, and another arriving in March.

Lovingly known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Grandma," she was endlessly proud of their accomplishments. She attended as many sporting events, concerts, recitals, school programs, and graduations as possible. Jeanette also loved to travel and shared this love with her family. Some of her favorite places included the Canadian Rockies, Montana, and Germany.

All who knew her loved her and admired her strength, faith, and compassion. She lived every day of her remarkable life to the fullest. She never met an animal she didn't like, and the birds and squirrels will miss her back porch buffet.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church, 94 South Gaston Street, Brevard, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
