Brevard - Jeanette Merrill Owen, 76, passed away peacefully at Elizabeth House on June 29.2022 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. A native and lifelong resident of Brevard, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret Merrill. She was also preceded in death by brothers Charles and Troy Merrill. Jeanette was employed by the City of Brevard for 44 years before retiring in 2014. Mrs. Owen is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Herman Owen; her son Jeff Owen and wife Becky; and her grandson Ryan Owen. She is also survived by her brothers Gene Merrill and wife Barbara; Tom Merrill and wife Betty; and Dale Merrill and wife Joanne as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 2 pm at Blue Ridge Garden of Memory in Pisgah Forest. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elizabeth House 571 South Allen Rd.
