Obituary

Jefferson Daniel Taylor -- known as Jeff, Dad, Papaw and God only knows what else, was born on July 27th, 1951 in Dallas, TX to the late James H. and Diane Taylor; and lived out the rest of his "dash" on Sunday, July 14th, 2019.

Surviving are his loving wife of 20 years, Candace Cameron Taylor of Sapphire; daughters, TL Taylor Smith & husband Bill of Brevard, and Brittney Birchfield & husband Randall of Sapphire; sons Walt Taylor of Asheville, NC and Cam Hudson of Brevard. He has two brothers, John Taylor and wife Lisa of Central, SC and Andy Taylor and wife Vicki of Odessa, TX. He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Elliott.

Jeff was a father figure, teacher, mentor & coach to countless others who crossed his path always greeting those in need with an open door and open arms. He was the best Papaw to Cassi Smith Mullen & husband Tyler, Riley Smith & wife Kayla, Jayda Hudson, Cree Hudson and Parker Taylor, and a "great" Papaw to Wylder Mullen.

He was a world-class fisherman, a renowned chef and local baseball legend. Growing up in and around Baton Rouge, LA, he was an avid LSU football & baseball fan, and loved his Brevard Blue Devils. He will be remembered and missed most for his infectious laugh and inappropriate hilarity.
