Jennie Siniard
Bishop
Jul 31, 1940 — Jul 8, 2026
Brevard, NC
Jennie Siniard Bishop, 85, of Brevard, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026. She has been joyfully reunited with her husband, Arthur H. Bishop, her parents, Bud and Mary Siniard, and two of her children: Sarah Lynn Bishop and Boyce Bishop. Her reunion with Sarah Lynn was over 60 years in the making, having lost her in a car accident when she was just an infant.
Jennie was born July 31st, 1940. From birth, her life was a miracle; weighing less than three pounds at birth, doctors attempted to discard her saying that she would not survive. But her father, knowing the sacred value of every human life, built an incubator and fed her with an eye dropper. She went on to survive for another 85 years and be a blessing to so many. She had many passions and things she loved, among these were Elvis, getting “gussied” up, microwave popcorn, family reunions, Whitman's chocolate, taking pictures, Christmas, and Gospel music.
But the thing she loved most was people. As a beautician, she thrived on her interactions with her customers who became just like family. As a Baptist preacher's wife, she loved the congregation and the church not only with words, but with action. And as a sibling, cousin, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved her family with her whole heart, never hesitating to pray for them, to let them know that she was proud of them and that they were loved.
She is survived by her siblings, Walter “Tink” Siniard and Francis Dobbins. Her legacy continues through her children: Arthur Bishop (wife Jenny), Alvin Bishop (wife Sherry), Michelle Patrum (husband Michael), and daughter-in-law Kimberly DeMauro. She was the proud “Meme/Mimi/Memaw” of Joey Byrd (wife Mary), Dalton Byrd (fiancée Chelsea), Dillan Byrd (wife Elaine), Bolt Bishop, Darren DeMauro, Dean DeMuaro (wife Cassandra), Chase Bishop (wife Cassidy), Avery Bishop, and Tanner Bishop as well as numerous great grandchildren.
As a woman who loved family reunions, July 8th, 2026 marked her greatest reunion yet!
